What we can all do to try and keep YDNP lanes open
As most of you are already aware about the new DEFRA legislation regarding trails in National Parks has
just gone through the commons and just need a nod through the lords. It won't be law till about March and
will take a while to be acted on.
We must do everything we can to try and protect our use of the Yorkshire Dales National Park (YDNP) as
this where most of us ride and it is on our "patch".
As discussed at the last club meeting we want as many user evidence forms filling in as possible to
demonstrate to YDNP the strength of feeling and which lanes we ride. It does not matter if you have only
ridden the lane last year for the first time, fill in a form anyway. If needed there will be help to fill the map
co-ordinates at the next TRAC meeting, 17th November when we will have marked maps. There are 2
forms, please fill in both with the same info, send the one with the TRF address on the bottom to that
address and send the other to John Midgley at Wisp Laite, Grassington, Skipton, BD23 5LU.

Also, letters to YDNP would also be valuable, also please send these to John M. We are hoping by showing
YDNP that there are a quite a lot of people using many lanes a wide lane closure would not really be a good
idea and working with organisations like us and the TRF to manage use would be beneficial to everyone.
IF WE DO NOTHING THESE LANES WILL CLOSE
Ask any non TRAC trail riders you know to fill forms in too, the more forms the better. As the TRF point out
this may be the thin end of the wedge, so we must act.
