TRAC had a ride out to the newly reopened lady Anne's Highway, A lot of the route has been metalled but there is still also plenty of open green trails left, these need riding with care as they will eventually get cut up again. The run up the wall side from the very start ( Hawes end sd 8416-9214) is already starting to get badly damaged and in wet conditions it is very difficult to get any traction which has resulted in deeper ruts been made which in turn makes it more difficult to get traction and so it goes on. We ask any members of TRAC and any of those out there who are not, to please ride this route so that you come down this hill,The route is just as enjoyable from the Kirby Stevens end (ny7834-0038) and will result in less rutting of the trail. Obviously if the trail gets badly damaged again then the highways department will just put the TRO back on and the route will be lost again, possibly forever, look what happened to Middleton Moor. Its up to all of us to try and keep these lanes open and to try and prove to the rest of the countryside users that we can ride responsibly. Also a less used part of the trail is to be shut soon for repair works, This is the bit that runs from the main road past the large green farm building at Shaw Paddock Farm (sd 7853 sd 9514) up to the highway (sd 7867 sd 9667), This is not closed as of yet but was to be closed from 19 Sept untill March 18 2006.
